Search by license plate, VIN, or listing link

We’ve been excited about this update for a WHILE. Because we’re car nuts, we wanted to do all of the following with Visor:

• Lookup a car we see when we’re out and about to see what it is, what it’s worth, and how rare it truly is
• Search up our own car to keep track of its value and discover its history before we purchased it
• Compare the information we see about a listing on another site to the market information in Visor

So, now you can! Simply start typing a VIN, license plate number, or just paste a link from a listing you see somewhere else. We’ll do our best to take you to either:

• The live listing, if it is currently active
• A historical view of the vehicle, if there is no active listing

Fixes and improvements:

• ⭐ For those of you on ultra-wide monitors, you’ll now see the map and list view side by side (instead of on top of one another).
• Added a few more fields to the specifications table on listings.
• When we added support for the Canadian market, we didn’t even think about switching mileage figures to km instead of miles 🙈 - this should now be fixed.
• Fixed an issue with the mobile site where clicking the “List view” button in the bottom right of the screen wouldn’t immediately switch to list view.
• Common spellings of makes and models are now supported in search (e.g. “vw” or “chevy”). We added a few easter eggs for model euphemisms… see if you can find them 😉
• To combat outliers in the price range filter, we’ve capped the upper bound of price to $250K for those models we don’t expect to exceed that.

Next:

• Work on ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ continues in a research phase. There’s a LOT of power behind this feature, but with great power comes great responsibility.
• We’re working on yet another secret feature that we’ll be ready to share more about soon. Feel free to email us if you’d like to be trusted with our secrets 🤫.
• We shipped plate/vin/link lookup without the ability to favorite off-market vehicles, so we’re working on getting that in soon.
• Some of you have mentioned that you’d like to see Show comparables for listings . We’re working on it!
